Good investment

The Phillies pay ace pitcher Roy Halladay about 477 thousand dollars per start. I'm guessing this morning most would agree it was a pretty wise investment. The veteran became only the 2nd pitcher in big league history to throw a post-season no hitter last night when he blanked the Reds 4 zip. Oh by the way he also drove in a run and scored a run in the win. Halladay has proven to be everything the Phils expected when they made the deal for him in the offseason. Yesterday's no-no was his 2nd of the year--remember the perfect game in the spring! This makes him only the 5th pitcher in major league history to throw 2 no hitters in a season. You have to go back 37 years when Nolan Ryan pulled off the feat. The performance was as dominating as I've ever seen. The Reds never really came close to getting a hit. Rollins made a good--not great--play on a ball and Werth had a sliding catch. The closest Cincy came to a hit was the final out when Carlos Ruiz made a nice play on a dribbler in from of home. If you are a Phillies fan don't break out the bubbly just yet but at least put in on ice for a 2nd World Series title in 3 years....last night was a great start!!!
