Baseball Post-season

Well baseball's elite 8 are set to start their month-long run to the World Series title. The National League has the Phils, Reds, Giants and the wild card Braves while in the Junior Circuit it is Tampa, Minnesota, Texas & the Defending World Series champion Yankees.

I like the Phils to beat the Reds in one divisional series. Seems to me the trio of Halladay, Hamels and Oswalt is just to much for Cincy but the Reds have found a way all season long to win tight games. The Phils pitchers won't be the difference in the series it will be the Phillies hitters. I think they will feast on the Reds pitchers and make it easy for the Fightins' pitching staff.

The other NL series could be very interesting. I think the Giants have a bit more than Atlanta but this one might be a 5 gamer.

In the American League I like the Twins and the Rays. The Yankees would pitch C.C. Sabathia in all 5 games of the series if they could. The defending champs starting pitching staff is a shambles and I don't think they are able to make it past the 1st round of the playoffs. The Rays just are a better team than the Rangers top to bottom. Texas won the weakest division in the AL this season and has been on cruise control for a month. Hard to get back into the swing of things. The biggest question for me in this series is will Tampa can sellout the Trop.
