Uni's

You may have missed it but a new trend has come to the U-S sports scene. The owners of the WNBA Phoenix Mercury have announced a deal with the personal security firm Life Lock to put the firms logo on the front of the players uniforms. The WNBA is struggling and needs an infusion of cash. These kinds of deals will help but the precedent is important. Across most of Europe and Asia professional sports teams have sponsorships on the front of their uniforms. One of the most famous teams in the world Manchester United is sponsored by crippled insurance company AIG. Soon your Phillies or Eagles, Ravens or Orioles jersey will be a collectors item. I don't have a problem with all of this. We don't even flinch when we see all the sponsorship on NASCAR vehicles or on the drivers suits...why not in Major League baseball or the NFL or the NBA. If it keeps the cost of tickets down I'm all for it.
