Weekend football results

OK Penn State won in Columbus for the first time in 30 years...another demon exorcised for the Nittany Lions. What do we take away from this game. Penn State is good and the defense is really becoming a force. The "D" made a play when it needed to by forcing Terrell Pryor to fumble and set up the game winning touchdown. Another thing I took out of the win was that Pat Devlin is a pretty cool customer. When starter Darryll Clark got his bell rung Devlin stepped in and led the team down the field for the go-ahead touchdown and also led the drive that gave the Lions their final score. Devlin has played a lot this season but mostly in garbage time. However that pre-season competition with Clark for the starters job really helped out Saturday night in the Horseshoe. Another thing to take out of the Penn State win is I still don't think they can beat Texas. The Longhorns look like the class of college football this year.

Ravens fans should hope that offensive coordinator Cam Cameron doesn't get another head coaching job. Cameron's innovative offensive schemes have made it fun to watch the Ravens offense. In 1 game on Sunday he had more different alignments than Brian Billick used in his nearly decade in Baltimore. I love the variety...my guess is Ravens fans are also enjoying it as well. A few quick asides after the game Q-B Joe Flacco says he did catch 3 passes while he was in high school. He says he caught a couple of 2 point conversions and a 60 yard TD pass while playing QB in South Jersey. Watch for this development. Haloti Ngata lining up at fullback in a goal line situation. On Sunday the 340 pounder was on the offensive line in 2 goal-line situations. Coach John Harbaugh says Ngata has been lobbying to get the ball and score. Harbaugh wouldn't rule it out. Remember when Refrigerator Perry was a fullback for the Super Bowl Champion Bears in the mid 80's.
