Week 6

I don't like Dodgers manager Joe Torre's move to not pitch to Ryan Howard. The plan backfired a bit last night. Utley should have been walked and then have Lowe--or a lefty reliever--go after Howard. Instead Utley goes deep with a 2 run shot and then Pat Burrell hits a solo shot. Torre has said he doesn't want Howard to beat his club. Frankly I think Howard has more holes in his swing than Utley. I would have given Utley a free pass and then tried to get Howard to ground into a double play or strike him out.

Cole Hamels--after a shaky first inning--was in control most of the night and gets the win. Look for Hamels to go again in game 5 for the Phils. I think Charlie Manuel will be comfortable with Joe Blanton starting game 4 in L.A. and coming back with his ace in the 5th game of the series in Citizen's Bank Park where he has been money.
