Baseball Playoffs Round 2

So much for my predictions on the baseball playoffs. Got only 1 of the series right as the Phils beat the Brewers. Now things get tougher! In both the NL & AL Championship series I see 7 gamers with the winner a real toss-up.

In the American League the Rays beat the Red Sox head to head in their season series 10-8...does that mean I like Tampa...yeah but not only for that reason. The Red Sox are still banged up while Tampa is really healthy for the first time in months. With Josh Beckett still nursing a sore muscle in his side. I will go out on a limb and tap the Rays but I still think it is a 7 gamer.

In the NL the Phils and Dodgers split their season series 4-4. With each team earning a sweep at home. So it says here the Phils win the series in game 7 at Citizens Bank. Home field is a wonderful thing. Catch all the games on ESPN 1440 starting on Thursday evening at 7:15 with Harry Kalas and company.

One last note. Yanks closer--and future Hall of Famer--Mariano Rivera had surgery yesterday on his ailing shoulder. The 38 year old complained his shoulder bothered him all season long. So you say his numbers shouldn't be that good--WRONG. Rivera converted 39 of 40 save opportunities and had a 1 point 4 ERA. Imagine what his numbers would have been if he wasn't hurt!!!!
