The NCAA Men's Tourney gets started tomorrow with a couple of play-in games but the real fun gets started on Thursday around Noon. I need to be convinced that any team can give Kentucky a run for its money. I hear ya...the Wildcats lost to Vanderbilt in SEC Title game...so what. The loss might be a bigger problem for the rest of the teams in the tournament. The Wildcats are now mad. Sunday's loss was Kentucky's 1st in 3 months. Coach John Calipari is going to use the SEC Title game loss as motivation. He's telling his players the entire season will be a waste if they don't win the national title. On paper, and for a majority of the season, on the court the Wildcats have been the cream of the crop in college hoops. That doesn't change with Sunday's loss to the Commodores.
I have Michigan State and Kansas playing in 1 National Semifinal while the other will feature Ohio State and Kentucky. The Jayhawks and Wildcats move to the finals in New Orleans with Kentucky the overall winner. My bracket has #1 seed North Carolina being knocked out in the Sweet 16 by Michigan and #1 Syracuse losing to Ohio State in the Elite 8.
Let the madness begin.
