Good news

If you are a fan of a baseball team with one of the lower payrolls in the game you must be thrilled that the Giants won the World Series this week. San Fran's entire pitching staff was developed by their minor league system. No high priced free agent pitchers made a start for the team in the post-season. Yes they had some rented players who played key roles in the title run but most of them were cast-offs. Pat Burrell, Cody Ross, Edgar Renteria and Juan Uribe aren't exactly A-list players. The Giants wins showed you don't have to acquire the top free agents to be a contender and a winner of a World Series title.
