All the Fuss

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about the Super Bowl being played outdoors in the Meadowlands in February 2014. So what if the events related to the game have to be held indoors. OK so they can't have a golf event or some such stuff. The Meadowlands arena will be a perfect place to serve as a headquarters for the game. They have room for a media center as well as tons of other events in the former Brendan Byrne Arena. I think the reason for the media gripping is that reporters won't get 2 weeks of fun and sun in some warm climate.

The game isn't played for the 70 thousand or so people in the stands. They are irrelevent to the game. The Super Bowl is a TV event. When hundreds of millions of people around the world watch the game the NFL doesn't care if its 25 degrees outside. The weather can become just another part of the story. I'm sure mostof fans don't remember when the Colts beat the Bears in Super Bowl 41 in 2007 that it rained for most of the game. When all is said and done no one will care what the playing conditions were like...only who won and lost.
