The college football season started with some surprises this weekend. #3 Oklahoma loses as does #18 Florida State. #6 Ohio State almost falls to Navy in Columbus! In addition Division 1AA William and Mary beats Virginia. #9 Penn State looked very good in the first half of their 31-7 win over Akron but the 2nd half saw the Nittany Lions shutout. One thing I worry about with the Lions is are they deep enough especially at some key positions like quarterback and wide receiver.
I think the best game of NFL season might be the first on the schedule. Thursday night's kickoff game between the Steelers and Titans in Pittsburgh could very well be a preview of the AFC Title game. Both teams are loaded. This is one of the games where mistakes could be key. A late turnover could change the whole game. I kind of think the Steelers will win but wouldn't be surprised if the Titans pull off a mild upset. I will give the rest of my picks later in the week.
