Once again we have proof that athletes shouldn't be role models. With each day's revelations the life of the Former Titans and Ravens quarterback becomes more tawdry. McNair was shot to death on Saturday by his mistress who then took her own life. It appears that 20 year old Sahel Kazemi became distraught when it was rumored that McNair may have been involved with another woman. Let me get this straight she thought that McNair would be faithful to her while he was cheating on his wife! Not likely. In fact Kazemi looks like Air McNair's 3rd choice. The N.Y. Daily News is reporting that McNair had a relationship with a Minnesota stripper for the past decade.
McNair was a great player who often played hurt and that is admirable but his commitment to family is not laudable. When he retired, just before the start of the 2008 season, McNair said he wanted to spend more time with his wife and 4 children. I wonder about that commitment now!
I don't wish McNair's fate on anyone but if you play with fire sometimes you get burned. I can't imagine how McNair's widow is going to answer her children's questions about their father's death. I wouldn't wish that conversation on anyone!
