Tiger's return

The wait is over for the golf world. Tiger Woods will return to competition next week at the Match Play Championship where he is the defending champ. Woods hasn't played for the past 6 months after having surgery on his knee following his win at the U-S Open at Torrey Pines in early July. The golf world missed him. Yes the U-S won the Ryder Cup without Tiger and crowds and T-V ratings were great but overall the tour has taken a hit while Tiger was on the sideline. All you have to do is look at the regular tour event at Torrey Pines. Attendance was down 30 percent this year without Tiger compared to the previous year where Tiger was the winner. Sponsors are also feeling better. With Tiger in the field they get more bang for their buck. Kind of interesting that Tiger is returning to play at an event for which he is a top spokesperson. Accenture is the main corporate sponsor for the event. It will be interesting to see how Tiger plays and whether his game has any rust after 6 months on the sidelines.
