The Tee times are set for the start of the 3rd Men's Major of the year. The British Open is being played at St Andrew's in Eastern Scotland. Tiger Woods has won the last 2 times The Open has been played at the famed links. Woods raised the Claret Jug in 2000 & 2005. Will he do it again?
Woods will start the his quest for a 4th Open title on Thursday at 4:09a Eastern time when he plays with Justin Rose and Camillo Villegas.
Some other notable groups--a trio of U-S Open champs will play together the first 2 days at St. Andrews as 2010 Champ Graeme McDowell is put with 2003 Champ Jim Furyk and 2007 Champ Geoff Ogilvy starting at 8:23a Eastern. Phil Mickelson plays with Monty and Goosen at 9:20a Eastern. Defending Champ Stewart Cink gets a couple of Englishman in his group as he is joined by Els and Poulter in a 8:42a tee time and last year's runner up Tom Watson--a 5 time Open Champ--plays with Japanese sensation Ryo Ishikawa and 2008 & 09 Champ Padraig Harrington at 9:20 Eastern.
The weather for Thursday is expected to be overcast with spotty showers and temps in the mid 60's.
