The Pants

If you have watched coverage of the British Open you couldn't have missed the pants that John Daly was wearing. Yesterday Long John wore a pair that made him look like a clown and today's look like he ran into a flock of peacocks. Daly--who was banned from the PGA tour for the first 6 months of the season--has been playing pretty well at Turnberry. If his strong play continues you might get a better chance to see the 95 Open champ lots more. I hope Daly has his life under control because he is a great draw--2nd behind Tiger--for golf who can play with the best.

The story of Tom Watson's 65 on Thursday on day 1 at Turnberry made you think of 1979 when Watson was at the top of his game. The 59 year old will always be in the conversation of the greatest golfers--other than Nicklaus & Woods. Watson has 8 majors titles with 5 of those in the British Open. Watson has always been a class act. I hope he is able to win his 6th Claret Jug it would be the story of the year in golf!
